David Matthews, CFP®, AIF® Registered Representative, RJFS

David Matthews is dedicated to helping our clients and prospective clients identify, prioritize and pursue their personal and financial goals. His goal is to help them make the best of the opportunities they have, and he always puts their interests ahead of his own.

As a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, Dave has attained the prestigious CFP® certification, one of the most respected financial planning credentials and the recognized standard of excellence in personal financial planning. In addition, he is also an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®.

Inquisitive and objective, Dave knows that gaining a deeper understanding of each client often comes down to asking the right questions and probing for what may not have been said. It is this knowledge that can lead to a more tailored approach to fulfilling the needs of our clients.

He provides each client with objective recommendations and the means necessary to track their progress and manage expectations. He is dedicated to deepening his relationships with them to learn how he can best guide them in making rational decisions rather than emotional ones, and giving them the confidence to convert their wealth into what they value most.

Dave leverages the resources of the firm and the experience of our team to complete the necessary and important day-to-day due diligence, compliance and administrative duties that might otherwise distract him from the personal client interactions that are so important.

Dave has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. He joined Fusco Financial Associates in 2007 and moved to Raymond James with the team in 2012. Previously in his career, he was a Certified Financial Planner™ professional at LPL Financial and an investment advisor at Morgan Stanley. He attended Loyola College in Baltimore to study engineering.

Dave spent his earlier years in the retail industry. Over time, as he became more familiar with financial planning and came to realize he could serve the best interest of clients while making use of his interpersonal skills and love of problem-solving, he found his calling as a financial planner.

Dave has also been active in the community throughout his career. He serves as treasurer of Mt. Ararat Lodge 44 in Bel Air, Maryland, where he has been a master mason since 2012. He is also a member of the Boumi Shrine and the Scottish Rite. In addition, he is a past board member and past vice president of the Village Learning Place in Baltimore.

Dave was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Harford County, Maryland, where he lives today with his wife, Keyuree (people know her as Nok); their children, Cortney, Morgan and David; and their grandchildren, Paige, Landen and Ryan. In his free time, Dave enjoys traveling, boating and spending time with his family. He is also an avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner,  CFP Logo Flame Design and  CFP Logo Plaque Design in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
