Artificial intelligence (AI) is poised to impact our daily lives in so many different aspects, some readily apparent, some operating in the background. From the automation of routine tasks to real-time healthcare diagnostics or autonomous vehicles, it’s already reshaping the way we do things, and its impact will only continue to grow. However, the backbone supporting this transformation—our electric infrastructure—is in dire need of an upgrade, one that must occur to host any widespread adoption of AI.
